Add Some Color
After my last post this morning I started working on the weekly chores. Basically that is me cleaning the apartment. I dont complain because there is nothing like a freshly vacuumed floor. After I finished dusting and arranging, I took a look around to applaud my work and it sort of hit me how BORING the color scheme is in my apartment. Its all brown and creme.
Does that not scream boring to you? Im sort of at a standstill on what to do. I am on a tight budget and I promised myself to not neglect my clothing situation this year like I did last. Granted the gifts I got for Christmas should carry me for awhile.
The first problem is the dining room. I am planning on making this:

The bar is a new addition that I actually think fits wonderfully. It just needs a little TLC and we need to empty it out. It currently houses our DVDs. Above it is tricky. On the side of it we have the only wine rack Ikea had which is fine for now. We bought a round mirror for above the bar, but when we got home saw it was rusted. Thanks IKEA. Now Im thinking shelves? I dont know.

The living room. I cant believe I havent put color in here yet. We have been here for how many months and it has looked cold like this. I dont know where to start. Suggestions?
And now that we have gotten a bigger bed in our room, we have no headboard. My mom and I are going to make one, so once that is ready…..you know I will have pictures. Just think burlap.
Have you thought of doing an accent wall? My mom's house is all neutrals but then in each room she has an accent wall – bright red in one room, navy blue in another. I think accent walls look REALLY nice without having to paint the whole room a bright colour!
I just moved in with my fiance, and I am working on making our house have a little more color, too. Maybe try some colorful pillows on the couch? Or frame some colorful fabric/scrapbook paper (you can get premade frames at Hobby Lobby!) to add some pop. I'm gonna be trying both soon!Good luck! And let us know what you decide to do!
